PowerPoint 2010 Direct Show Rendering |
Rendering: DirectShow technology is used
for the first time. This overcomes the problem of PowerPoint
throwing to Windows Media Player or the MCI player-
PowerPoint does the work. Yay! |
PowerPoint 2010 handles legacy formats |
Legacy file versions- if you open a file
created in a previous version (E.g. in PowerPoint version
2007), PowerPoint respects the
previous way of handling media. However, you have the
option to upgrade your media in the presentation, either by:
-
Double-click the media file, or
-
Use BackStage (File Button).
|
PowerPoint 2010 video conversion |
BackStage (File | Info | Convert button)
offers the opportunity to upgrade media to PowerPoint
version 2010 compatibility. |
PowerPoint 2010 video error handling |
For the first time, if media cannot be
found or there is a problem, PowerPoint gives you an
indicator in the Video Time Line- another yay!

PowerPoint 2010 Quick Time video support |
Also, for the first time, PowerPoint 2010
truly understand what to do with QuickTime formats. However,
you must have the QuickTime player installed (32 bit).
Note: personally, I have the 32 bit
version of Office 2010 installed. |
PowerPoint 2010 video convert |
To me- convert at all cost to take
advantage of the features in PowerPoint 2010! |
